Deadra Bryant has an eye for capturing life’s raw emotions. Whether it’s the sadness in one’s expression or a feeling of solitude on a snow-covered road, she takes you there. Her works of art convey the deep love for the southern roots she’s so proud of and the respect she gives to her God-given talent. Although she has years of experience, this artist believes she is just getting started.
As a teen, Deadra honed her illustration skills by attending Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington, D.C. After completion, she continued her education at Chicago Art Institute and Pratt Institute, in Brooklyn, New York.
Deadra Bryant’s first solo exhibit was at Little Black Pearl, a new nine million dollar art and design center in Chicago, where she was chosen from hundreds to be the first artist to display her work at the opening of it’s new gallery, The Wanda & Louis Martin Gallery. Private collectors include, Patrick Ewing, Quincy Jones, Chris Webber, Phyllis Hyman, Snoop Dogg, Monica Haslip, Eamonn Walker, Tracy Morgan and Phylicia Rashad.
Whether this lover of life has a paintbrush in hand or her eye looking through the lens of a camera, she is forever communicating life’s unfolding stories.
